I am starting as an assistant professor in Anthropology at University of Wisconsin-Madison in Fall 2023. I am a biological anthropologist by training, specifically in nonhuman primate feeding ecology and social behavior. I conducted my doctoral dissertation on female redtail monkey (Cercopithecus ascanius) nutritional strategy and social nutrition, i.e., how social dynamics with conspecifics and with sympatric monkey species affect nutritional intake and balance. Through previous postdoctoral work at Carnegie Mellon and UC Berkeley, I incorporated comparative and cognitive questions into my research. As a postdoctoral fellow at University of Michigan, I examined variation in social behavior of chimpanzees across different ecological contexts as part of a collaborative grant on evolution of leadership.
